SECTIONS IN COMPETITION
INTERNATIONAL: Regular competitive section showcasing a selection of the best international fiction and animation works that will be competing for the Filmin prize given by the jury to the Best International Short. Mecal presents in this section 9 short programs from over 30 different countries, with different genres and topics, that offer a vision on the storyline and aesthetic diversity linked to the field of shorts.
OBLIQUE: Mecal commits once again to the freedom of creation and expression, by showing the most daring, original and creative short works, both narrative and formally-wise. The works in this section, one of Mecal’s trademarks, will compete for the Oblique Best Short Film prize, awarded by the Obliqua Jury.
DOCUMENTARY: Mecal has always been committed to short film documentaries, a genre experiencing a period of great vitality and an interesting and strong rise, and also one of the regular competitive sections of the festival. This year we present 4 programs with the best international short film documentaries. The audience will be voting and thus awarding the prize to the Best Short Film Documentary.
